I really don't recommend one over another- I use either the rope, rollout, 'swimming/floating up', or 'leaning' techniques, depending on the symptoms I'm having. They all work for me if I apply them in a way that is compatible with the symptoms I'm having. The only one I do not recommend is getting up, because it is a movement we use normally with our bodies, and because of that it is very natural to try to use the body, even if one is not trying. It's a habit. And if you're properly numb, like you should be when you project, you may then think you're paralyzed when your body doesn't move, and actually cause superposition of the body feelings, and find yourself 'trapped' in your body. That's why the other exit techs are better for me- they don't focus on the physical body, but on the energy body instead.
So I actually start using pretty much any other technique except that, and only if I think I have failed, then I try to get up, because it's the best way to find out if I've projected but stayed in my body, or if I'm just not deep enough into the trance. If I find myself paralyzed, I just go back and continue using the rope method or some other one that uses the mind, like any of the others.
