I'm glad you mentioned that, Beekeeper--I was beginning to think I was the only one who felt that way.

I haven't read all of any of the Conversations with God books, but I flipped through one in a bookstore a few times and didn't take long before I found little things (like your example) that just did not resonate with me.

And later on I got to thinking about what RB says about channeled information in his Popular Model Conundrum article. It occurred to me that, even assuming the author himself is completely honest about his "conversations", the actual entity he communicated with could quite possibly be a non-divine entity with not-so-noble intentions, rather than "God".

I don't mean this to criticize the books, the author, or anyone who finds his material valuable. I'm just tossing out my current perspective as potential food for thought.
