    Sidereal Time

Challenge for all you astrologically-savvy & possibly mathematically gifted individuals:

I have been trying to figure out what Libra time is for North America and can't seem to make heads or tails of the information I have found. If you have better links or ways of figuring this out, I invite you. Here's the links I have:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sidereal_time
    Figure out your local http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/sidereal.html
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Point_of_Aries

    Good luck.

OK, I'll bite - what is Libra time? Or where did you get the reference to it? Is it another name for sidereal time or are you looking for when the Age of Libra is?
Never doubt there is Truth, just doubt that you have it!

From articles that I have read in the past (which I don't have anymore, hence my lack of being able to figure it out), sidereal time is based on the position of constellations, instead of the relationship of the earth to the sun- so that the constellation of Libra would be on a certain position (first point or something like that) at a certain time of day in a specific hemisphere. My understanding is that each constellation ends up in that specific spot twice a day, but I can't understand how to figure it out). It's hard to explain because I really don't know what I'm talking about. That wasn't much help, was it?

Isn't that a unreliable way to measure time? The constellations are not the same as a 1,000 years ago because our relative position in space changes to those of the constellations?

That's why it has to be calculated all the time- because it changes on a daily basis. For example, I know that Libra time was at 9:30 am in the beginning of May 2003 in my area of the world, but I have no idea when that would be, say, tomorrow. (Or today, for that matter)

    Hi CFT,

If I understand correctly I think it moves 3 minutes 56 secs. per day. You can download a sidereal clock program to find out the current sidereal time for your own time zone -
    http://www.radiosky.com/sidclockdownload.html

I think most astrology programs will calculate the sidereal time for any particular moment of the year. Are you interested in the exact moment when the Sun enters tropical Libra or Sidereal Libra this year where you are? The Sidereal horoscope is a favorite amongst astrologers in India...

Sidereal Libra this year where you are?
Yes. In my case it would be Florida in the US.

    Sidereal Time

Well I am still mystified why you chose Libra (unless you were looking at the following link! - http://www.astrologer.com/aanet/pub/tra ... ottery.htm

But set for Miami Florida, the ascendant enters tropical Libra at 2:29:31 pm and the MC enters tropical Libra at 8:29:32 pm.
Now if you are looking at the Spottiswoode studies about correlations of more accurate ESP occurrences happening near 13:30 Sidereal time in any given time zone, than that would correspond right now to 9:59 pm in Florida (Spottiswoode articles here:
    http://www.jsasoc.com/library.html

Notice in his later article in the above link on the correlation of Solar wind activity with better ESP results, the most optimal time is a half hour earlier at 13:00 Sidereal time. I think he is trying to say that Solar Wind activity effects the Earth's geomagnetic field which in turn influences our ESP abilities.
If it is indeed the Spottiswoode research that you are interested in, I would go for a current clock time in Florida from 9:30-10:00 pm and this range would increase 3 minutes and 56 seconds per day from now on as the year progresses. Notice in that lottery project link they said that 13:30 sidereal time corresponded to an astrological MC (midheaven) point at 24* Libra which is roughly correct.

Well I hope this helps CFT. Perhaps I have strayed away from what you were truly seeking

Wow. That is really cool. I've been trying to win the lotto for a while. Now I know what time to do my predictions. If I win because of this ill send you a check.

    Here's hoping...
